Bandaikhara High School - A Great Place for Education

I am very pleased to have  an invitation from Bandaikhara high school, my most favorite school, which  is going to be observed its 60 years successful turn over as ‘Diamond jubilee and re-union anniversary’. I feel proud to tell any where that I was a student of this very school and passed SSC under Rajshahi board on the 1979. I also feel proud that present head teacher and one of the assistant teachers is my bosom friend now working in this school and dedicating their knowledge to bring up the future of the students of this territory.

Bandaikhara high school is one of the renowned schools in Atrai Upazilla and has been spreading its contributions since establishment in 1947. Many scholars are produced from this school. Enormous number of teachers, service holders, business men, engineers and doctors are working in home and abroad with reputation being educated from this school. During our school education, we had never had private tutor, we learned from class teachers as well as from our class friend, first boy in the class, Kader (Now Professor of Cardiology).  It is true, that time teachers also refused to offer private tuition, they encouraged learning from school and we had very good relation with all the teachers.  I am very grateful and owe to my teachers and friends for ever who deliberately contribute their knowledge and help to build up my career.

After my graduation, I started private practice at Bandaikhara and at the same time I got government job. So that was the good time for me to come close to the people of this region.  I have seen many preventable diseases in children prevailing in this area which can be easily avoided with simple precaution. ‘Hand washing’ after toilet used and before having any things can prevent Diarrhoea and Malnutrition. Similarly,  ‘exclusive breastfeeding’  to newborn upto 6 months and thereafter ‘breastfeeding’ upto 2years of age along with ‘family foods’ are good option to promote adequate brain growth as well as to prevent Diarrhoea, Malnutrition and Pneumonia which are the major killer diseases in children . As a child specialist, I request all the parents to give vaccine as per immunization schedule offering from government with free of cost. It is good news for us that government has banned the ‘Smoking’ which does multiple harm to the body and most of the student are now against this ‘Smoking’. We would like to expect healthy environment and disease free life, ‘take care and share it’.

I think this celebration will provide inspiration for present leaner and upcoming student   as well as will lift the prestige of the school. It is unfortunate for me that I will not be able to present that nice occasion for sake of Foreign Service obligation. I earnestly solicit ‘Doa’ from every body for my safe return to home.

I wish the ‘Diamond jubilee and re-union anniversary’ of my own Bandaikhara High School gain a grand success.
