List of Shaheeds in 1971

There is a paragraph in the book ‘Naogaon Mohakumar Itihas’ about the role of Bandaikhara village in the liberation war.  If translated the words will be – Small village Bandaikhara.  The occupation army invaded this Atrai river bank village several times.  Many people of Naogaon took shelter in this village.  Barbarian army invaded this village finally on 20th September 1971, during day hours.  They killed more than 45 villagers.  They destroyed many houses.  The massacre was more severe than Mailai massacre of Vietnam.  The freedom fighters resisted the occupation army severely while they were going back.  More than 50 members of the occupation army died in this counter attack (Quadir, 1974).  After this counter attack the occupation army did never come back.

According to the old age villagers the estimated number of Shaheeds is 52 persons.  And according to the villagers the occupation army of Pakistan in collaboration with the Razakaras and Al-Badars came to this village twice and killed people.  According to the Bengali calendar the first such operation took place on Wednesday the 22nd Ashar 1378, and on Monday the 3rd Ashin 1378.  The villagers could give us the names of the following persons only who were killed by the occupation army.
